MORE than 30 players teed-up for the 2026 Golf Highland “Champion of Champions” event held at the Kings Club in Inverness.

Brora Golf Club’s Ross Naismith captured the Willie MacKay Cup with a gross 71.

Home club member Will Macrae took the Stableford honours and Golf Highland glasses with 36 points over Scotland’s 2026 Club of the Year.

Will is also a member of the fundraising team at the Highland Hospice, which was presented with a £400 cheque from a raffle and sweepstake held at the tournament, which had fallen victim to foul weather earlier in the year.

Golf Highland chair Neil Hampton, general manager at Royal Dornoch, said: “Ross was a worthy winner and thanks to everyone who supported our chosen charity, the Highland Hospice.

“We are also grateful to club manager Graham Ramsay, captain Eric Robb and staff on and off the course who ensured golfers from across the region had an enjoyable day.”
