The Club
Fort William Golf Club sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, amid breathtaking Highland scenery. The course is set in beautiful countryside with spectacular views. The cliffs of Ben Nevis hang overhead, green fairways meander ahead and stiff challenges await at the short holes.
An 18 hole heathland course which measures 6217 yards from the championship tees, par 72 and has a mixture of testing holes from the 566 yard 4th to the 110 yard and 125 yards short holes at the 3rd and 6th. The 6th is perhaps the jewel in the course – a wide inviting green wrapped around by a Highland burn, with trees surrounding the holes if you’re short. The course is a fair test of golf for all abilities.
The course was designed by Hamilton Strutt in 1974 and in 1997 work was carried out by Soutar’s of Stirling to make the course an enjoyable experience for members and visitors. Great golf in breathtaking mountain scenery. There is a practice area available for those wanting to hit a few shots before playing the course. The Clubhouse is always welcoming offering Highland hospitality.
