Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club

Situated in the hills above the picturesque Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer lies a true gem of the Highlands that is Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club; where many of holes come with their own stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Although a short course at 5000 yards with a Par of 67 from the medal tees this interesting course starts at the first hole, which has one of the biggest downhill drops in European golf. From the 2nd to the 8th tee there is a steady climb. The undulating 8th and 9th lead to the highest point on the course which is the short 10th over a wee lochan. Coming home from there is certainly not plain sailing. The 12th has another big drop and then there is a steady climb to the 17th green with the 18th presenting the golfer with a very interesting return to the clubhouse.

There are very few bunkers to trap golfers, but the course is quite tight and offers even low handicappers a serious challenge. The old adage that it pays to be straight is certainly true at Strathpeffer Golf Club as the rough is particularly unforgiving, a traditional problem with golf courses in the Highlands!

Regardless of ability, all golfers will always be assured of a very warm welcome with a well-stocked bar and very good food available. Our shop offers most of the accoutrements necessary for a truly agreeable round of golf; from sets of clubs for hire, balls, tees and gloves etc. We also have a selection of golf shirts and jerseys for sale. Golf carts are also available for hire at reasonable prices.

Throughout the golfing calendar we hold a series of Opens to which all are welcome. The first is a Gents Walk-On Open on Sunday May 3rd and there are approximately 2 per month until early September.
