The Club
Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club is a traditional Scottish resort course situated in the beautiful Cairngorms National Pak. The Club was established in 1890 as a nine-hole course. Over the next twenty years it was improved and extended and by 1921, it became a full 18 hole course. Drafted in to make sure the new holes were of the highest standard, were two famous Golf Professionals of the time: Willie Park, twice Open winner and recognised as one of the World’s best golf course architects and James Braid, five times Open winner and a renowned golf course architect.
The course is designed to appeal to all levels of golfers. It is naturally split into three distinct loops: 1-6 are straightforward holes played over flat ground, 7-12 through moderately hilly woodland, whilst holes 13-18 are undulating parkland. Our “signature” hole is hole 9 “Murdie’s View”, a spectacular short downhill par 4 hole played between pine trees and a backdrop of the Cromdale Hills. There is something for everyone at Grantown and unlike so many golf courses these days, it never demoralises you if you’re not playing your A game. A course, in short, which is suitable for everyone and gives a challenge, whether you’re a beginner or a scratch golfer.
The Club has all the facilities you would expect from a Club in the top 50 in Scotland. A cosy Club House serving food and drink throughout the day, changing facilities and a fully stocked Professional Shop. Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club, “THE HIDDEN GEM” of the Highlands, prides itself on being friendly and open to all.
You are invited to come and experience Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club, and we believe you won’t be disappointed.
Hope to see you soon.
