FOR the first time, Golf Highland was represented at Scottish Golf Tourism Week.
Board members Ally Young and Shona Rankin hosted exhibitors from home and abroad at the Edinburgh event.
There was success for members at the annual awards dinner, with Castle Stuart Golf Links at Cabot Highlands winning Best Clubhouse and Nairn taking the accolade as Best Pro Shop.
SGTW is a key event on the Scottish Golf calendar and the volunteer led Golf Highland organisation seized the opportunity to showcase the rich variety of golf throughout the region, flying the flag for our 34 member clubs.

Chair Neil Hampton, general manager at Royal Dornoch, said: “This event, attended by exhibitors, global tour operators and suppliers offered a great platform to promote the Highlands as a golfing destination, not only for courses recognised among the finest in the world, but as also as a portal for High 9s Golf – the 9-hole courses across 13 challenging venues set amidst some of the most spectacular golfing scenery to be found anywhere.”
Around 100 suppliers were in attendance, with 10 Golf Highland members also in attendance.
“All the organisations who attended the Golf Highland and High 9s stand were offered advice on different routes golfers can take through the region and the ethos of volunteers organising events for their members as well as offering reciprocal golf fees.”
Suppliers and tour operators exchanged contact information, received literature on the Golf Highland venues and were also directed to information available on our website.
