MEMBERS and greenkeepers at Golf Highland member clubs are being encouraged to join visiting golfers in showcasing their photographic skills.

The Golf Highland collective has been inviting images over the summer which highlight memorable features and beautiful backdrops.

The winners of the inaugural Golf Highland Photography Competition will land fourballs at some of the region’s “bucket list” courses, including Royal Dornoch, Cabot Highlands and Nairn.

Amateur photographers, and even non-golfers, are being encouraged to use their mobile phones to capture the eye-catching scenery which is part and parcel of golfing in the Highlands.

Greenkeepers are also perfectly placed to grab early morning shots while tending to their courses.

The entries impressing the panel of judges across four categories will win £100 and a fourball voucher.

1. Best Scenic Golf Course Image: £100 and a fourball at Royal Dornoch
2. Best Image of Golfers at Play: £100 and a fourball at Royal Dornoch
3. Best Nature or Environmental feature on the course:  £100 and a fourball at Cabot Highlands
4. Highly commended entries per category draw: fourball at Nairn Golf Club

“Golf Highland has more than 30 member clubs from across the region. We are thrilled to enjoy support from world-famous lures like Royal Dornoch, Cabot Highlands and Nairn,” said Shona Rankin, a Golf Highland board member flying the flag for Carrbridge.

“We are inviting entries that capture images of our courses at their very best.

“We are also looking for scenic photographs which feature golfers enjoying their game with friends in the natural environment we are blessed with in the Highlands, walking the fairways, celebrating as a putt drops or escaping a bunker.”

The competition runs through to September 30.
