A picturesque Highland golf club is preparing to host a world championship with a difference.
Carrbridge Golf Club will host the World Porridge Open on Sunday, October 6.
The village is famous for hosting the annual Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championships and the golf club is playing its part in ensuring a successful weekend.
Competitors from near and far are welcome, including members of clubs in the Golf Highland community.
The nine-hole course is popular with visitors to the area and the Open will feature Gents and Ladies scratch and handicap stroke play competitions over 18 holes.
Carrbridge offers spectacular 180-degree views of the Cairngorm, hilltop greens and fairways lined by heather and woodland.
The event has secured sponsorship from Hamlyns Porridge Oats and every entrant will receive a bag of oats/oatmeal and great recipe ideas.
The company has also donated a bottle of their own label whisky for a raffle which will support Mary’s Meals, the charity which feeds under-nourished schoolchildren in some of the world’s poorest communities.
Entry for golfers with a club handicap is only £10 via the Scottish Golf app or by contacting secretary@carrbridgegolf.co.uk
