A BAND of local volunteers are the driving force behind the return of the much-loved “Twa Bridges Open” at Carrbridge Golf Club and nearby Abernethy Golf Club in Nethy Bridge on Sunday, April 26.

This distinctive two-course competition – played on one day – is run jointly by the neighbouring nine-hole Golf Highland clubs. It is believed to be one of a kind in the UK.

Organisers say the popular event simply wouldn’t happen without the efforts of the dedicated band of volunteers who plan, prepare and help on the day.

“The Twa Bridges Open exists thanks to the people who give their time so generously,” said one committee member.

“Their enthusiasm keeps this special partnership between two village clubs thriving.”

What began as a friendly collaboration has become an early-season fixture on the regional golf calendar, attracting players from across the Highlands and beyond.

Entries, priced £25, and £10 for juniors, are now open through secretary@carrbridgegolfclub.co.uk or on the Scottish Golf app, with another full field expected.
